We went to out first ever Kite Festival last weekend. It was a little blustery for some of the kites, but our held up really well. After waiting for an hour to get on the shuttle bus and another 30 min riding there, we finally made it to the Park! We picked out a nice open patch of grass and put down our picnic blanket and had lunch (I had an orange backpack if any of you saw me). Our kite is so easy to fly that I can hold it with one hand and take pictures with the other or eat my tasty lunch. We did have some troubles with people not knowing how to fly a kite and crashing into our heads or tangling in our line. All in all though it was a really good time despite the foreboding weather. It is truly amazing to see all the different types of kites that are out there and just to see the sky filled with kites and the trees filled with those that didn't make it!The only downer to our trip was making it back to the parking garage and finding that our car had been hit in the garage (it is less than a year old :( ). The lady was kind enough to leave her info though and hopefully the new paint job will look nice. Lesson to all you out there don't park next to my car in a compact spot if your car is indeed not compact!
